SUMMARY

As part of the activities of the Engineering and terminal maintenance management and reporting to the Supervisor, Electromechanics, the employee installs, repairs and maintains mechanical and electromechanical equipment at the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installs, maintains, repairs, checks, modifies and calibrates the airport‘s various mechanical and electromechanical machinery, components and equipment.
• Uses various machining tools to machine new parts or repairs damaged parts, including shafts, bushings, pulleys, etc.
• Uses the appropriate gauges and instruments to repair, modify and adjust electrical equipment drawing less than 600 volts.
• Occasionally works on programmable automatic control systems or operator interfaces in order to resolve recurring problems.
• Modifies and adjusts digital speed controller parameters.
• Makes different items using various materials on the basis of a simple description, design or sample.
• Performs preventive maintenance tasks, takes readings and records information.
• Performs any other task related to this job.

REQUIREMENTS

• College diploma in electromechanics, combined with a minimum of five (5) years experience as an electromechanical technician.
• Electrician’s certificate of competency, valid and recognized by the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité of Emploi Québec.
• Valid Québec driver’s permit.
• Solid experience in mechanical fitting and hydraulic systems maintenance.
• Experience as a machinist is an important asset.
• Must pass tests to obtain an airside vehicle operating permit within sixty (60) days of obtaining this position.
• Must pass the security check to obtain an entry pass for restricted areas.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
• Knowledge of programmable automatic control system, digital speed controller and operator interface technology, including software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office an asset.
• Awareness of occupational health and safety.
• Dexterity and attention to detail.
• Contribute to the attainment of objectives by sharing corporate values: team spirit, respect for people, thoroughness and persistence, loyalty and integrity, innovation and creativity.
• Proficiency in spoken and written French.
• Available to work rotating shifts.
