ADM Aéroports de Montréal has released its consolidated operating results for the three- and six-month periods ended June 30, 2019. Since the beginning of the year, YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport has welcomed 9.7 million passengers, an increase of 5.7% over the same period last year.

ADM Aéroports de Montréal is announcing changes to its governance with the retirement of Normand Legault, Chair of the Board of Directors since September 16, 2015. Mr. Legault has completed his third term as Chair of ADM, the maximum number of years allowed under ADM’s governance rules. He is being succeeded as Chair by Danielle Laberge, a director of the Corporation for the past eight years and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors since the fall of 2018, effective today.

ADM Aéroports de Montréal today held a groundbreaking ceremony to officially launch construction of the future Réseau express métropolitain (REM) station at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. The first REM metro car will enter the station in 2023.

Did you know? YUL is equipped with a detection system for lightning and electrical storms in the atmosphere within a 16 km radius. When lightning is 8 km from the airport site, flashing lights are displayed on the buildings, advising personnel to enter the airport terminal. Lightning and storm cells are particularly dangerous in the open spaces around the airport’s ground operations.

The World Economic Forum and the governments of the Netherlands and Canada launch the first pilot project for paperless travel between the two countries today at Montreal Airport.

Known Traveller Digital Identity (KTDI) is the first platform to use a traveller-managed digital identity for international paperless travel. It will be integrated with partner systems and tested internally throughout 2019, with the first end-to-end paperless journey expected to take place in early 2020.
