Life at ADM

The Amicale des employés d’ADM L'AMICALE

Founded in 1975, the Amicale ADM is the Aéroports de Montréal employee social club. Besides organizing social activities for employees and their families, the Amicale negotiates corporate agreements with various partners, under which employees are eligible for preferential prices on various goods and services.

Since its founding, the Amicale has organized several very popular activities. The three best known are, without a doubt, the golf tournament, the Christmas tree trimming ceremony and the Christmas party.

Amicale activities are subsidized by an annual employee contribution, with a matching donation from ADM, as well as by revenues from vending machines at Montréal–Trudeau and the head office.

Workplace daycare

The “Aéropuce” daycare centre, located close to the Montréal–Trudeau terminal building, gives priority to children of employees working on the airport site, subject to space availability. It has room for 65 children. On the Montréal–Mirabel airport site, there is also a Centre de la petite enfance (subsidized daycare) with room for 60 children called “Petit Équipage”.

The Excellence Gala Programme Reconnaissance ADM

The Excellence Awards recognize individuals and groups who, over the course of the year, have distinguished themselves through their outstanding contribution to ADM activities. Award categories are inspired by our mission and values: Customer Experience, Team Spirit, Engagement and Motivation, Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental Merit, Innovation and Creativity, as well as Volunteering and Commendable Action.

The names of the winners are revealed during  an awards gala to which all employees are invited. The event also serves to recognize service anniversaries and retirements.

Sports teamsAéroports de Montréal

ADM has its own hockey league, comprising two teams of some 25 employees. On Friday nights between September and late April, the squads face off in friendly matches on the rink at the Bonaventure arena, located not far from Montréal–Trudeau.

A team of employees also competes for ADM in the Montréal–Trudeau Airport Soccer Cup. LSA

Aéroforme Club

Employees working at Montréal–Trudeau airport have access, for a modest annual fee, to a gym located within walking distance. The facility, open seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., offers several exercise machines as well as free weights. There are also noon-hour group classes in cardio salsa, zumba and step.

Employee Barbecue

Once a year, employees of both airports gather at the Montréal–Trudeau maintenance garage for a giant barbecue, where a great mood always reigns! As well, the organizers pull out all the stops to ensure an environmentally friendly event: invitations are printed on recyclable paper stock, mass transit is provided to get employees there and back, and the caterer has a zero-waste policy.

In-house communications

There are several communications tools employees use to keep up to date on ADM activities and life at the airports. Besides the intranet, where ADM employees can find current news as well as general information about the company and a host of documents and tools, the following two quarterly publications are worth mentioning:

L’Équipée is the ADM employee newspaper. Each issue takes a look at employees in the course of their work or engaged in community activities, reports on the successes of the various teams, examines ADM’s environmental initiatives, and chronicles social life within the company.

Montréal–Trudeau Express is a newsletter for the Montréal–Trudeau airport community, and offers content of interest to employees of all companies active on-site.

767 Challenge767 Challenge

Every year, ADM takes part in this friendly competition involving various organizations in the Greater Montréal Area. The challenge for each team is to pull a commercial airliner a distance of 3.5 metres in the fastest possible time. The activity raises funds for Special Olympics, a movement dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with an intellectual disability through sport. Besides the chance to support a good cause, the event also delivers a great day of outdoor fun for employees and their families.

Centraide–United Way Centraide

ADM’s employees’ generous support of Centraide–United Way has grown steadily over the past few years, despite challenging economic times. In addition to contributing via payroll deductions, many organize activities to benefit the charity. The company also matches employees’ donations dollar for dollar.

Discounts and other benefits

ADM employees enjoy exclusive savings with partners such as Transat Holidays and Air Transat, Énergie Cardio, Mont Saint-Sauveur, La Ronde, Weight Watchers, as well as selected restaurants and retail shops in the Montréal–Trudeau terminal. In addition, when they travel, employees can leave their vehicles in their parking spaces at the airport, and are entitled to a reimbursement of the airport improvement fees (AIFs).
