Self-service check-in

There are now several self-service options available to facilitate and expedite your check-in formalities. Be at the leading edge and take advantage of these efficient new processes! Check the attached table for the options available for your flight.

Using the self-service kiosks allows you to check in at the airport easily and quickly and to avoid the traditional airline counter lineup. The kiosks are user-friendly: simply follow the on-screen instructions. If necessary, you can ask an attendant at one of the assistance stations for help.

The kiosk will prompt you to identify yourself with either a credit or loyalty card, a passport or even a bar code using the appropriate reader. You also have the option of manually entering information such as your reservation number.

You can also use the kiosk to check in the people travelling with you and all your checked luggage, choose your seats and print your boarding cards for each segment of your flight.  Other types of transactions are, or soon will be, available using the kiosk.

Self-tagging of luggageImage_Enregistrement_Valise

All self-service kiosks are equipped with a luggage-tag printer so that you can tag your own checked luggage. Montréal–Trudeau is the first airport in the world to offer this feature in a common-use environment. However, only some airlines currently offer luggage self-tagging.

Web check-in

A growing number of airlines are allowing their passengers to check-in by Internet. It couldn’t be simpler! Simply follow instructions on your carrier’s website. Don’t forget to print and bring your boarding card(s) with you.

Once you are at the airport, you will be able to use a self-service check-in kiosk to print your boarding cards (if you don’t already have them), your luggage tags (if you are bringing checked luggage) or to complete any other available transaction.

The latest development in self-service check-in is “mobile” check-in using a cellphone or Web-enabled PDA (personal digital assistant). Check with your carrier for terms of use.

Once you are at the airport, you will be able to use a self-service check-in kiosk to print your boarding card(s) and luggage tags.

Some carriers have recently begun allowing you to receive your boarding card in the form of a bar code sent directly to your mobile device. Check with your carrier for terms of use.

Once you are at the airport, if you want to use a self-service kiosk, for example to print your luggage tags, you can identify yourself with your bar code by simply placing the screen of your mobile device against the reader indicated on the kiosk.
