Temporary airport pass

A temporary pass may be issued to you once your security clearance application is submitted to Transport Canada. Refer to the Restricted Area Identity Card page for all the details. A temporary pass is generally issued for a period of six (6) months. It is renewable until you obtain your security clearance.

If your temporary pass is expiring soon, and your security clearance has not yet been issued by Transport Canada, you will need to go to the APO reception counter, without an appointment, to have a new temporary pass issued. No documents are required.

If your temporary pass has already expired, and your security clearance has not yet been issued by Transport Canada, you will have to go to the APO reception counter, without an appointment, to have a new temporary pass printed. You will need the Request for Airport Pass form filled and signed by an authorized signing officer.

Once your security clearance is issued by Transport Canada, the APO will inform your authorized signing officer (employer). You will need to go to the APO, by appointment (Biometry), to obtain your restricted area identity card (RAIC). Refer to the Appointment Booking page for the procedure and required documents.
